To efficiently process the harvest vineyards, a sizeable, modern and sophisticated winery is necessary. Our multi-million dollar facility is an investment in state-of-the-art equipment
and systems. Peak processing capacity exceeds 12,000 tonnes. There is over 13 million
litres of temperature controlled stainless steel storage capacity on-site plus an assortment
of fermentation vessels. Various capacity bag presses ensure the best extraction methods
for all batches of fruit.But not everything is high-tech. In age old winemaking tradition, our
winery also has a sizable array of French and American oak barrels where our red wines
rest quietly for months or even years as they develop their oak maturation characters.
Barrels are replaced regularly to ensure that an optimum blend of new and used oak
characters is imparted to the wines.The last step of the winemaking process is bottling.
Not many wineries have their own bottling facilities and must rely on outside sources for
their bottling. At Royal Star Estate, we have invested in our own equipment in order to
minimise unnecessary handling and transportation of the wine and so that we retain total
quality control of the entire process from growing the grapes through making the wine to
bottling it. We also pack the wines on pallets or into containers on site before shipping it
off to local and overseas markets. |
